Will That Be Two For Dinner?

I've mentioned here before that I wanted a bistro set for my front porch. Our back deck gets the heat of the late afternoon setting sun during the summer months which prevents us from enjoying a meal outdoors.

So I found this one about a month ago at Home Depot at $249.00..... a few weeks passed and it was on sale for $199.00..... BUT, today it was marked down to $125.00 and since there were only 2 left I snagged one. If you want one at Home Depot you best skeedaddle on over since these were going fast.

It's perfect for just the two of us and EXACTLY what I had in mind when I pictured adding furniture to our front porch. Made of plastic wicker it should stand up to the summer heat, rain and humidity quite well. And the good news is that Hubby did a 'test sit' and liked it. You can bet he will be enjoying his coffee here tomorrow morning. Now I just need to find some great looking cushions and we'll be ready to open our own 'dinner for two' bistro restaurant.

P.S. I'll be away for most of the day Saturday so don't look for me here... K? Enjoy YOUR week-end plans even if you're just relaxing at home.

Weather You Like It Or Not

I slept in late and awoke to gray skies out my windows.

Then the rains came. Not a lot. Not for long. But still, gray skies all the same.

So it's a 'lamps on' day. On go the lamps throughout the house.

And I slip into my comfy spot in front of the computer. It's a good day for organizing more photos.

And for double checking the scene of last night's crime.... where Hubby knocked over a glass of red wine which splashed throughout his comfy zone. (It was flippin' EVERYWHERE. Grrrrr. Floor, table legs, down side of chair, floor, wall, baseboards.... Did I say Grrrr? Oh ya.)

*Why is it The Vagina always cleans it up while Mr. Penis creeps off to another comfy spot?* Sort of like that wet spot in the bed... they always manage to avoid it as well.

But LOOK! As per the photo, all is clean and dry in 'recliner land' today. Thanks of course to the Vagina in the house!

Now where was I? Oh, yes... the weather. Did I tell you it's raining today?

My Solace

On slow, warm, sticky humid, summer days,

I take solace in the little things.

Like the wiggle and sway of a dog's butt as they amble down the lane.

Or better yet...

Sippin' a glass of lemonade on the front porch.

Well, Lawd a mercy and bless your heart ...... I do believe I'm morphing into a southern girl!

A Very Sharp Knife

Hubby has requested our homemade red sauce over spaghetti for dinner tonite so the kitchen is quite aromatic with the smell of garlic. Ya, I know... you either love the smell or you hate it; living with an Italian man I've grown accustom to it over the past 12 years.

Oh, and by the way, you can see my previous post with the recipe HERE. The Wife O' Riley tried it and said "My family went ape!". I so love hearing feedback on the few recipes that I do post here. *insert huge smile here*

We always use a brand name sausage, Johnsonville, but the dude at the meat counter recommended the Kroger store brand and said it's even better.... hmmmm, will let you know since we purchased a package which I am using in today's sauce.

Hubby likes to cook so with that in mind I gave him a great kitchen knife this past Christmas. I have to say that I have enjoyed using this knife as well and although it was the priciest knife I have ever purchased I hope to add more of the same to our artistic arsenal of foodie weaponry in our kitchen. chop chop By the way.... you have probably seen this knife mentioned on other blogs in the past year. I'm giving it my personal recommendation since I'm a famous cook.... *ahem* A Very Sharp Knife is where it all starts in this house since we eat, drink and sleep onions, garlic, bell peppers and tomatoes which all require slicing.

I'm sure Julia would have agreed that a very sharp knife is a must in the kitchen. (It's an oldie, but a goodie) ENJOY the memory of the good old SNL days!

HAPPY HUMP DAY YA'LL!!

I'm A Nervous Wreck

Our furry grandbaby, Logan is not at all nervous. Here she is on her wedding day just cool as a cucumber.

Going to the doctor? Well that's a different story. Logan, as you can see, has to take a book to calm her nerves and keep her mind off what's about to happen.

It's okay, Logie.

Grammy feels that way when she has to go to the gynecologist.
