First up is Andreas Vollenweider's 'Midnight Clear' which I've had for 2 or 3 years and still enjoy it each time I listen to it. It's great background music for your Christmas dinner or for just chillin' in front of the fireplace or when you're on your computer and want music, but nothing too distracting. Carly Simon lends her voice to one the song 'Forgiven' on the CD, a song I find quite moving.

Now if you prefer some distracting Christmas music then how about something jazzy. Ledisi fits the bill on this.... This CD is new, just out in the past couple of weeks, and this lady can belt them out. I'm enjoying having added this to my Christmas music selection this year.

Hallmark puts out a Christmas CD each year and I try to pick it up each year... they are sold only in the Hallmark stores, but if you look around online, like Ebay, you can find them there as well. I especially enjoy the Michael McDonald 'Through the Many Winters' CD from a few years ago. It went gold. If you like Michael's famous gritty voice you will enjoy this.

This year Hallmark chose Sheryl Crow as their Christmas CD artist. Her CD is titled 'Home For Christmas' and I'm not as fond of it as I was of Hallmark's Michael McDonald CD, but there are a couple of songs she does that trip my trigger. Go to Hallmark.com and create an account and then visit their special offers to listen to her songs.

Alan Jackson's 'Let It Be Christmas'. I think I had to beat a woman off me in order to grab this CD off the shelf, being the last one, when this CD came out... swoon..... Absolutely love love love this CD and I'm really not much of a country western fan... but, Oh, Baby! I do love Alan.

And last but not least... here's another one I just picked up this year. 'A Christmas Dream' by Robin Berry on harp and Bobby Schnitzer on Guitar. It's wordless music... background music, soft and gentle music. So if you are looking for something that rocks your world then this is not it... it's gorgeous, reflective music. Nice for the arrival of your Christmas guests should you be hosting a party.
And that's my list for this year. I look forward each year to new arrivals in the holiday genre of music and I never get tired of listening to it. Hope your Christmas music collection is as satisfying as mine, and if not... try adding some of my suggestions to your musical repertoire this holiday season. Happy Listening!!
AND.... Don't forget to go pay BOSSY a visit for that music giveaway!

All sound like great picks. Thanks for the suggestions. Too early still for me to think about Christmas music or Christmas anything. I have to get thru Thanksgiving first.
I totally understand SmartMouth....
I adore Christmas and stretch it out as long as possible, especially the beautiful music that is then put away for so many months. It's just such a glorious season. I have never found any Thanksgiving music that satisfies me as much as Christmas music so I start the music waaaay early.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

That Alan Jackson one is AWESOME...and I'm enjoying just sitting her listening you your music!
I love the Alan Jackson song, Let It Be Christmas, but I haven't heard the whole CD. Maybe I should see if I can pick it up somewhere. Or I could download it ; )
Great seasonal suggestions Di! Thanks! I love the song that's playing right now by Shedaisy. Now we're onto Faith Hill, Where are you Christmas? Another one of my favorites. It melts my heart yet makes me sad at the same time.

I discovered Andreas Vollenweider when I was 19 years old, and loved the music. I haven't seen the Christmas CD, though. I'll have to look for it!
Hi Di, Thanks for the visit. We have really enjoyed Wanda too and I'm not ready to give her up yet, but I can picture several people I know having a blast with her!
Thanks for the link! You have listed great music and I have none of it! I need a bunch of new CDs this year.

Thank you for linking to our giveaway! And now your post has given me my next list to get at the library or amazon. I can't wait to hear the Michael Mcdonald CD, and I've never heard of Ledisi but I love her song on your music player. I am glad to have more wonderful christmas music!
Love Alan Jackson! My all time favorite Christmas Album is an old Johnny Mathis one. Guess I remember growing up and listening to him with my parents.
